The Big Teston Event is nearly upon us. The feedback from the June event was very positive. This was the first one that Kent Kite Flyers was involved directly with the Teston Country Park Rangers.
For the Big Teston, we have obtain Arran Grundy of Windrush Kites to trade.

The arrangements are the same as always. Camping is officially from the Friday afternoon to Monday morning. Donations for camping will be collected on Sunday morning. These monies go towards items for the park for which there is no other funding available.

If you wish to arrive earlier, please contact Louise, senior ranger at Teston County Park

Contact details 01622 817623
mob 07920792316

Kite flyers and their vehicles may only move before 11am and after 5pm pm each day. Please ensure your have your hazard lights on when moving on the field.

If you are not in place in time cars must be parked in the car park(s) which are adjacent to the flying field.

As Kite flyers and the public mix together, please ensure any anchors/stakes are clearly marked and tethered kite lines are visibly marked.

I have spoken to-day with Jane who is a ranger at Teston and she assures me that they will be widening the entrance onto the field to allow for the turning circle of caravans being towed.

It would seem that Louise is moving on so the contact at Teston will be Jane whose mobile number is 07732316218

Jane from Teston has informed me
A228 is closed fo roadworks at Kings Hill. Please find below alterntaive suggestions.

If you are coming off the M20 at junction 4 I suggest you turn left onto the A20 and drive along to the East malling junction, and make your way through to Teston that way. Or you can go to junction 5 and come back on yourself via Hermatage Lane past (Maidstone hospital). Head towards Barming and then follow A26 to Tonbridge and Teston Country Park will be to your left.

Or you can go into Maidstone and follow signs to A26 Tonbridge

Junction 5/6 is always the best option anyway...and is actually shorter!!!!

Peeps coming from the South A26/A264 who are not familiar with the area are likely to be the most affected.
Sat Navs and AA and Multimap directions all try to take you through Tonbridge and Mereworth.

Instead...take the A264 and A228 from Tunbridge Wells towards Maidstone. At the second roundabout after the Hop Farm roundabout, turn right to avoid the roadworks and diversions.
This will take you straight into Wateringbury, where you will turn right at the traffic lights back onto the A26 towards Maidstone and to Teston. It is the most direct route anyway.
Hope this helps?
