The Big Teston Event is nearly upon us. The feedback from the June event was very positive. This was the first one that Kent Kite Flyers was involved directly with the Teston Country Park Rangers.
For the Big Teston, we have obtain Arran Grundy of Windrush Kites to trade.

The arrangements are the same as always. Camping is officially from the Friday afternoon to Monday morning. Donations for camping will be collected on Sunday morning. These monies go towards items for the park for which there is no other funding available.

Kite flyers and their vehicles may only move before 11am and after 5pm pm each day. Please ensure your have your hazard lights on when moving on the field.

If you are not in place in time cars must be parked in the car park(s) which are adjacent to the flying field.

As Kite flyers and the public mix together, please ensure any anchors/stakes are clearly marked and tethered kite lines are visibly marked.

Having met with the lead ranger last Friday, camping will be allowed from the Thursday 10th June through to Monday 14th June. We have arranged for those campers who have problems with the entrance to be allowed to use the extra carpark, but may be allowed on to the camping area via another gate. This dropped into the old virtual letter box the other day. Another newsletter from the BKFA covering some interesting ground, particularly in relation to the new requirements for people coming into contact with children or vulnerable people.

Some of you will be aware that we regularly get new members register on the site whose sole purpose is to use the site as a link to their own sites of rather dubious nature - and certainly not kite related.

Despite repeated attempts to block such new users, none have been successful so far, so I've implemented another level of security, which requires new registrations to be approved before they are allowed access to the site.

Apologies to the genuine kite flyers who may be inconvenienced by this change, I'm sure you understand.
