Beaver Kaleidoscope 3rd & 4th July Holmesdale School, Snodland,
This now a two day event, primarily for teddy bear parachuting. If you are able to help Bill with the parachuting please come along. Contacts on site: Richard Chipperfield or Tim Rofle Dates: Saturday 3rd and Sunday 4th July 2010 Venue: The Holmesdale School, Malling Road, Snodland, Kent, ME6 5HS. Times: The day runs from 10am until 4pm with the activities ceasing at 3.30pm. During the final 30 minutes all the Beaver Scouts will be entertained by the Kent Scout Hullabaloo roadshow. There is no specific lunchbreak so if at all possible please keep your base going with the staff you have! If not please close down for the minimum of time. Setting Up: Can take place after 5.30pm on the Friday 2nd July until 10.00pm that evening. Setting up on Saturday and Sunday can take place from 6.30am. All activities must be up and running by 10am (unless you are arriving with your Beaver Colony and then we ask you get going as soon as possible!). We suggest you bring a gazebo or tent to run your base from and you will need to provide your own tables and chairs as we have extremely limited supplies. If this is a problem please contact Rebecca Martin. Activities: We have arranged over 60 activities each day ranging from inflatable bouncy castles, games, circus skills, punch and judy, clowns, climbing, drummers etc. We envisage that we will have 1,000 Beaver Scouts and older Cub Scouts each day, together with 250 adults. Refreshments: We will supply you with tea/coffee/cold drinks. There will not be any on site catering suppliers so packed lunches will need to be brought. If you wish to take advantage of the staff catering option then please contact Kathy Smith – this costs £15 for the weekend. You can download details at www.kentscouts.org.uk Parking: There is limited parking at the school; please park where directed by the stewards. We look forward to seeing you at Kaleidoscope! |

Re: Beaver Kaleidoscope 3rd & 4th July AS Bill is taking the teddy bear "parachuting" equipment, a fee has been agreed for the week-end towards expenses and club
funds. if any member wishes to claim expenses for getting to supporting an event then please request an expenses claim form from me. |

Re: Beaver Kaleidoscope 3rd & 4th July Sorry guys, I've just had to pull out of this event due to last minute family commitments. We'll still have at least 4 people on site. I don't think Richard is in the country at the moment, your best on-site contact will be Stuart Barron.

Re: Beaver Kaleidoscope 3rd & 4th July No nothing terrible Gareth - just one of those 'you're doing too much, what about us?' things. I've been away for the last 3 weekends on the trot (different reasons and events) and am going to Lounge on the Farm the following one, so something had to give. There'll still be 3-4 team members on-site during the weekend and I may be able to get over briefly on Saturday morning. By the way, we'll have balloons and helium in case of light/no winds. I was planning to do water-rockets as well but never mind.

Re: Beaver Kaleidoscope 3rd & 4th July Bill and I are teddy parachuting. Not sure if we are expected to do anything else. Need Syd to answer that one I think.
