Am happy to give you easy directions from the bridge if you'll ever trust me again after the Slideaway mistook!!!

Cross the bridge towards tonbridge and get into the third lane. You need to stay on the bridge system rahter than go up the Tonbridge Road. The Broadway shopping centre will be on your left. Take the first exit off onto St. Peter Street (don't cross the river again). You'll pass the new travellodge on your right, then Wickes on your left. Keep going until the road bears sharp left. Turn right here and go under the railway bridge. Keep straight on through the David Lloyd car park and the park is straight in front of you. There will be people there to direct you.

River Festival at Whatman Park. If you are coming by a vehicle please enter the park by driving to the end of St Peters Street, going under the bridge, driving through the tennis club car park and through the large gates into the park. Stewards wearing fluorescent ‘Lions bibs’ will help you once you enter the park. I have attached also a map giving directions around the park. It is vital that only the roads marked in red are used by vehicles and vehicle movement is confined to 8am to 10am and 5pm to 6.30pm. Once in the park make your way along the lower road to point E on the map and you will be told where to set up. Arriving early and leaving late will help us. All pedestrians should enter the park via the two footbridges if possible for safety reasons.

Sorry I do not have an answer to number of cars, but as far as I know, Steve Palmer and Len are going in one car. Janet and Barry obviously together. Bill may go as well

Much to everyone's relief, I'm sure, I will not be able to make it to this event....
Hope you have a good day and plenty of contact with the public.
Will see the Sunday bunch (as opposed to the Brady variety)at Hythe.... Sun & Showers I am told....

Re: Maidstone River Festival - 31st July
A very wet morning turned in to a reasonable day quite a bit of interest from the few visitors to the River Festival who actually found this limb of the event.
Lots of folk saying they would come to Teston. Could have sold my Pirate ship a number of times!
Photos and article to editor in due course
